FADE IN:

EXT. FARMHOUSE - EARLY MORNING

A modest, working, family farm. The grounds are neat but the buildings are old and worn. The farm equipment shows signs of heavy wear. At least one piece of equipment is obviously broken.

As pigs start to squeal in the background, JAKE, a twelve-year old boy, runs from the barn towards the house with an empty milk bucket swinging wildly in his fist.

JAKE

(yelling, out-of-breath)

Mom! Hogs are out again!
